The skills you learn from relaxing yourself will enable you to become a calmer person, at peace with yourself and those around you. These, practical steps on ways to unwind will be a great step towards inner peace and a less stressed existence. Relaxation TipsPamper yourself: get a Facial Manicure / Pedicure or a Full Body Massage Laugh more - there are lots of funny things (and people) in this world! Fill your day with things that YOU like to do Spend time with really good friends not people who stress you out Listen to music. Block out some evenings in your diary for YOU time (and tell everyone else you're busy) Go out for a walk and a stretch during your work day Meditate Breath (I don't want you dying on me just yet!) The last two are very useful to help reduce stress and relax you You don't need to be a guru to meditate (neither do you need to grow your hair long and wear tie dye trousers). You can use relaxation CDs, join classes, or even just spend some quiet time alone. All these things will greatly reduce stress and let you breathe in a way that is less, well, rushed. This will give your body more oxygen which will also improve your mood and general health. Meditation TipsJust close your eyes and focus on your breathing. This doesn't mean you have to change your breathing in any way at all (although you may find that after a while your breathing shifts by itself). Whenever you find your attention wandering, just tell yourself to focus on your breathing. If you have any tension in any part of your body, let go of the tension by imagining you are breathing into that part. Breathing is normally unconscious, but you need to learn that you can control it consciously. Changing your breathing, or just becoming aware of it, is an easy way to change your physiological state.
