Stress seems to be one of modern day life's new problems. But the reality is that only in the last few years has society and modern medicine become more aware of the issues and symptoms surrounding stress and stress related illnesses. Stress has always been there but it has not always been treated sympathetically and as a condition.

The reality is that stress can cause illness, emotional and physical problems.

Stress results from being under too much pressure, whether it be in the workplace, an event such as moving home, getting married, going on holiday or from any sort of loss such as divorce, separation or the loss of a loved one.

Research has shown that around 20% of the UK population see their doctor each year in about mental health problems and much of this is stress-related.
